Meet Lauren, Steven & Honey

It all started in the fall of 2021, when Lauren and Steven met the old-fashioned way—over a bar top. Despite Lauren’s plans to relocate to North Bennington and Steven still living in Massachusetts, their connection was undeniable. Long-distance visits and shared dreams eventually led Steven north, and by the summer of 2023, they had settled into life—and baking—together in Vermont.

Over the next 18 months, what began as a simple love of sourdough turned into a full-fledged bagel business run out of their home kitchen. Word spread quickly, and so did the demand.

On Memorial Day Weekend 2025, Bennington Bagel Company officially opened its doors at 25 Main Street in North Bennington. At The Bagel Shop, you’ll now find a growing selection of bagel flavors and toppings, locally roasted coffee, and a rotating lineup of cream cheeses—all made or sourced with care and served with a smile.

We’re proud to be a part of this community and honored to share something meaningful with every bake.
